Andrew Dunn
Andrew Dunn is a professional forester with 35 years operational experience across plantation and native forests in Queensland. His current role is Corporate Fire Manager with HQPlantations based at Beerburrum in South East Queensland. HQPlantations manages a 300,000 hectare estate with 200,000 hectares of high value timber plantation that grows in a fire prone landscape.
Andrew’s role entails developing and implementing HQPlantations Corporate Fire Management System; ensuring resources including fire response vehicles, fire detection camera and radio communications networks are managed to support emergency response; coordinating fire training, overseeing prescribed burn operations and wildfire response, maintaining relationships with emergency management agencies and other stakeholders; and managing fire operations projects across the organisation.
Dean Sheehan
Dean Sheehan has over 34 years’ experience within the Tasmanian forest industry in roading, native forest silviculture, plantation management and fire management operations.
He serves as a Council member of the Australasian Fire and Emergency Services Authority Council (AFAC), member of the AFAC subgroup Rural and Land Management Group, the Forest Fire Management Group and STT’s representative on the Tasmanian Inter-Agency Tactical Working Group.
As STT’s Fire Management Manager he is responsible for developing and maintaining fire management capability and capacity, managing annual fire programs and activities related to fire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in accordance with relevant Acts and legislation.
Anthony Walsh
Anthony Walsh is a Registered Forestry Professional (RFP) with 30 years experience managing plantations throughout Australia, much of it in senior management roles. He is the General Manager of the Green Triangle Fire Alliance on a contract basis through his consulting company, Apical Management. Through this role he has developed thorough knowledge of technologically advanced fire detection systems. Other areas of consulting work undertake include plantation management, due diligence, assessment of projects under the Clean Energy Regulator’s Plantation methodology and fire management. Anthony lives on a small farm just outside Hamilton in western Victoria.
