Joint ACT/NSW Divisional Field Day to Bateman's Bay
ACT and NSW Divisions of the IFA will be holding a joint field day at Batemans Bay to look at the history of Spotted Gum stand management including forest health and sustainability issues confronting current forest management.
The Batemans Bay Office of the NSW Forests Corp. will host most of the visit and the focus of the field inspections will be on spotted gum silviculture and maintaining a healthy forest, although a visit to an agroforestry site is also possible. For those staying over on Saturday night, there will probably be some kind of function that evening.
Transport on the field day will be by private 2WD vehicles, car-pooling where possible from Batemans Bay commencing around 9:00 am. Members, families, guest & colleagues intending to attend should book accommodation early as this weekend is within School Holidays.
An interesting itinerary has been planned, guided by Forestry Corporation staff and with the option for those travelling on the day, to join mid-morning.
