General Conference Questions

WHERE WILL THE CONFERENCE SESSIONS BE HELD?

All conference sessions will be held at University House (ANU).Address: 1 Balmain Crescent, Acton, ACT 2601.

 

HOW MUCH WILL THE CONFERENCE COST?

IFA and AFG members have access to discounted rates. Students (members or non-members of the IFA) also have access to special rates.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE?

Member/ Non Member Delegate Registration Inclusions

- attendance at all conference sessions
- welcome reception
- conference dinner
- all conference catering (Monday and Wednesday morning/afternoon tea and lunch)
- name badge.
- to qualify for the member rate, you must be a current member of The Institute of Foresters Australia (IFA) or of the Australian Forest Growers (AFG)
- non-member registration types include a one year IFA membership fee.

Day registration includes:

- attendance at all conference sessions on the selected day
- all conference catering on the selected day
- name badge.
PLEASE NOTE THIS REGISTRATION TYPE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.

Student Delegate Registration Inclusions

- attendance at all conference sessions
- all conference catering (Tuesday/Wednesday morning/afternoon tea and lunch)
- welcome reception
- name badge and program.
- non-member registration types include a one year IFA membership fee.


PLEASE NOTE UPON REGISTERING AS A STUDENT YOU CAN CHOOSE IF YOUR REGISTRATION INCLUDES THE CONFERENCE DINNER OR NOT.

 

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE CONFERENCE?

During the conference days, smart casual attire is preferred.

For the social program - smart casual attire is recommended for the welcome reception and for the conference dinner, evening wear/lounge suit.

 

CAN I BRING EXTRA GUESTS TO THE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS?

Yes, additional tickets can be purchased for the social functions. Extra tickets for the Welcome Function or the Conference dinner can be purchased at:

General Information

I NEED TO CANCEL,  IS THERE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

All cancellations need to be made in writing to the IFA Office - via email address: admin@forestry.org.au

Conference Cancellation and Refund Policy

Delegates who find themselves unable to attend the conference after submitting a registration form are most welcome to nominate a substitute. In the case of a cancellation, delegates must inform the IFA Office in writing of their inability to attend. A refund of the registration fee, less a cancellation fee of $100.00 (including GST) will be made for all cancellations received before Wednesday 1 August 2018. No refunds will be made after Wednesday 1 August 2018. All refunds will be processed after the conference. Any changes made to a registration within seven (7) days of the conference will incur a $40.00 administrative fee.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy

Delegates who cancel their accommodation booking must contact their chosen accomodation provider directly.

LIABILITY WAIVER

In the event of industrial disruptions, the Institute of Foresters of Australia (IFA) and the organisers accept no responsibility. In the event of the venue becoming unusable or other circumstances or the need to cancel the conference, there can be no liability on the Institute of Foresters of Australia (IFA) Biennial Conference or the organisers.
