JacJacki Schirmer_UCheadshot.jpgki Schirmer is an Associate Professor at the University of Canberra. Her research focuses on the intersection between natural resources and human wellbeing, and she currently manages the Regional Wellbeing Survey, one of the largest surveys to examine the intersection of changing access to natural resources and human wellbeing. Her work includes studies examining the socio-economic impacts of changed access to natural resources such as forests, water and fisheries for people working in those industries; participatory management of resources to achieve better outcomes; and understanding how nature connection (the ‘biophilia hypothesis’) affects wellbeing.
