Publishing and Advertising

The IFA currently distributes three different types of publications to its members:

  • The Forester online newsletter
  • Australian Forestry peer-reviewed journal
  • Weekly e-mail bulletin.

Since the beginning of 2014 The Forester magazine is published online on the IFA website every second month. The Forester magazine is best suited to articles about people and news, and reports on events. The magazine also provides a forum for opinion and anecdote, and technical information. It provides a vehicle for advertisers to take their message directly to foresters.

Deadlines for contributions are:

  • end January for February issue
  • end March for April issue
  • end May for June issue
  • end July for August issue
  • end September for October issue
  • end November for December issue.

The IFA welcomes articles between 500 and 2000 words, and graphics such as photos and diagrams. Note that articles may be edited if required.

Australian Forestry is the quarterly journal of the IFA, publishing research articles. It is distributed free to IFA members and is available online. No advertising material is accepted for this publication.

The weekly email bulletin is for notifications of news and events that have a short lead time. It can be used to promote employment and business opportunities for a fee ie Request for Tender (RFT). The opportunity will also be available on the appropriate page of our website until its closing date.
